Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to pay to register for Innis Orientation?

No, there is no registration fee for Innis Orientation! The program is supported by incidental fees charged alongside your tuition fees. However, you must register using the form linked on this website in order to attend the program.

When does Innis Orientation start and end? Is there a schedule I can access?

Innis Orientation 2025 will begin the morning of Monday, August 25, 2025 and will conclude the evening of Friday, August 29, 2025. Innis Residence move-in is currently scheduled for Sunday, August 24, 2025. A complete schedule of events will be posted to our website in the coming weeks.

Is Innis Orientation mandatory? Do I have to attend every event?

Innis Orientation is not mandatory though we highly encourage all incoming Innis College students to attend. Orientation has a choose-your-own-adventure structure, where you can pick what events you would like to attend. We would love to see you at every event, but it’s totally your choice!

Will meals be provided?

Yes, Orientation will provide meals as part of our regular schedule in accordance with dietary restrictions as indicated in the registration form. Please refer to the schedule to see when and where meals will be provided. This includes breakfast, lunch, and dinner on most but not all days of the program.

I am a commuter student, can I attend Innis Orientation?

Yes! Nearly half of our attendees each year are commuter students. We also encourage you to attend our shorter Commuter Orientation program. More details on that program will be sent via email over the summer. Please note we encourage commuter students to attend Innis Orientation and Commuter Orientation.

I am a commuter student, can I receive temporary on-campus accommodation during Innis Orientation?

The Innis College Office of the Dean of Students's billeting program allows incoming off-campus Innis students to stay at Innis Residence during Orientation Week. The billeting program seeks to make orientation more accessible for students who do not live in residence by allowing them to stay as a guest in a residence suite at no cost from August 25 to August 29.

Students who request and receive a space in the billeting program will be paired with an Innis resident who has volunteered to host a student throughout Innis Orientation. Guests will be provided with a key card to access the shared spaces of the host's suite. This includes the kitchen, living room, and bathroom(s). Guests will not have access to the host's bedroom. Guests will sleep in the suite’s living room and have access to the suite’s shared facilities (washroom, kitchen).

If you are interested in participating in the billeting program, you can indicate so during the registration process. Please note that requesting a space in the billeting program does not guarantee you a spot in the program.

Remember to wear your provided Orientation shirts on the Monday and Thursday of Orientation to represent your Innis College spirit!
